Pagan Love Song
In our palace built of time,
From marbled walls hang adorning golden moments
Drunken time sings wildly for our amusement
Naked seconds dance in carnal rhythm singing
"One day you must tie yourself to this skirt and blouse
You roaring tiger, you soaring eagle
Sing together to the rising sun, one voice
Sun-filled bodies dance, warm throb of erotic life!"
You pluck the red harp
By lamplight, I compose poetry
As you sing the grinding of the corn,
Our sun-fibred children sing the evening song
And I watch the fire and the darkening sky.
